Rotate has been very much present at the II Spanish International Congress on Construction and Demolition Waste Recycling held in Zaragoza on 13 and 14 November 2024. Rosa Carretón, technical director of ANEFA, and Paulo Romero, one of Rotate’s project coordinators, presented Rotate, financed by the European Commission, to an audience formed by experts, academics, and firms involved in the field.
During the event, the current situation of the sector was discussed, with very interesting presentations on experiences that are being carried out in Spain and South American countries on demolition, recycling, and sustainable construction, as well as the challenges and opportunities that exist in the market today, all with an optimistic outlook for the coming years.
The Congress has given new impetus to this CDW recycling activity, which is fully integrated within the natural aggregates production industry. The alignment and professionalism of most of the actors in the circular value chain is becoming increasingly evident: the aggregates industry, construction and demolition companies, transporters, CDW managers, experts, technologists, laboratories, scientists, etc. This international congress of an innovative and highly topical sector was attended by more than 400 congress participants from Latin America and Europe, as well as from most of Spain’s autonomous communities.
