Last week we at Rotate (R8) project had a very important meeting: the inaugural meeting of the IAB (International Advisory Board) and the kick-off meeting of the FPSC (Follower Project Steering Committee). These two separate meetings are the first of many that will be held during the lifespan of the project and are key to our success.

The IAB is composed of stakeholders, end users, and experts who will provide valuable external input and feedback on the development of the project. Its main functions include:

  1. a) Validation of requirements, providing another perspective.
  2. b) Validation, replicability, and possible developments of the project.
  3. c) It will help facilitate the transition to the market of the modules and methodologies developed in R8.

Our goal is to be able to work directly with relevant agents in the extractive sector to broaden the horizons of the project in terms of international relevance and global impact.

For its part, the FPSC is an open and stable group of ongoing mining projects that expose their technological needs, the social challenges, and the legal barriers they face. It is paramount for the R8 project to consider its potential to act as a tool to reduce the environmental footprint of the sector and face the challenges we all encounter related to circularity as well as the specific needs of the extractive industry nowadays.

We are delighted to be able to count on their experience and expertise to further advance this important project for the extractive industry. We appreciate their cooperation and their commitment to the success of this project and look forward to continuing our collaboration in the future.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the entire Rotate project team for their hard work and dedication in preparing and organizing these meetings. We will continue to work together to achieve our goals and successfully carry out this project.

We will keep you fully informed about our next meetings and about the progress of the whole project!
